Spring Peer Retreat

March 17-19, 2017

Camper Fee: $200 per participant

Peer Retreat is new weekend camp offered for young adults ages 20-30 who have physical disabilities. With less of a focus on camp activities, Peer Retreat is a chance for young adults to hang out, have in depth discussions, and build friendships that will last a lifetime. If you’ve ever wanted to attend another young adults retreat, but been limited by site accessibility or care options, we’ve got you covered. Personal care support will be available 24/7.

Spring Sleepover

March 24-26, 2017

Camper Fee: $200 per participant with a disability and $200 per sibling/friend

For campers with physical/developmental disabilities ages 7-17 and one sibling or friend.  This camp is ideal for new or young campers who have never attended our Light Up A Life summer camp and is a great opportunity to sample what camp is all about. Register early, as this weekend will fill quickly.

Mother's Retreat

June 2-4, 2017

Fee: $250 per mother or $200 each in groups of 3+

Register here and join our Facebook event to keep up to date.

This retreat is for mothers of children with physical, cognitive and medical needs. Whether it's medical appointments, difficult behaviours, providing daily living assistance, or whatever the stress in your life is, come take a well deserved break.

We have something on the go for every mom. Art workshops, outdoor activities, spa afternoon (massage, facials, henna, mani's and pedi's) and a special evening wine and cheese tasting.

Our guest speaker, Kathy Sorensen, is a mom who gets it. With her son, Thomas, being born with muscular dystrophy, she's been there too. Let her encourage you and share her wisdom, as someone who's travelled that road right to the end and come out the other side ready to share her story.

At the end of the weekend on Sunday afternoon, there will be the option to have your family join you for an afternoon of camp activities (added $50 for whole family).

Camp Fees

In order to provide the high quality, fun, and safe experience that parents expect and children deserve here at Easter Seals Camp Horizon, we invest in the very best staff, facilities, food, and equipment. Each program’s fee is determined by the length of the program, staffing requirements, and what activities are offered. Easter Seals Camp Horizon is committed to ensuring that every person who is eligible can access camp, and subsidizes the cost of each camper’s fee by 50%. As our programs are not eligible for government funding, annually we must raise over $380,000 to offer these subsidies. We are proud to partner with groups throughout the province and the country who are equally as committed to this experience, and who subsidize the cost even further for specific weeks of camps or specific campers.
