March is Easter Seals Month

March is Easter Seals Month

During the month of March, Easter Seals celebrates our work – our kids, our families and the generosity of our partners, sponsors and donors who make what we do - possible.

It's a time to reflect on everything it takes to provide support to our Canadian families living with disability – so that kids and young adults receive the equipment, programming and financial resources to live their lives to full potential.

In 2016, we are focusing on Camp and how camp is not just a Game-Changer - Camp is a Life-Changer! If you’ve ever been a camper or staff member at camp, you know the universal impact a camping experience holds. For many of us, it shapes who we become in life – our camp friends tend to be our lifelong friends.

For kids living with disabilities it is the same, but much, much more! Fully-accessible cabins, facilities, programming and camp activities are expensive. It takes a lot of specialized equipment and skilled staff to make it happen. But it’s worth every penny when you see the look on a child’s face after conquering a high ropes course, or feeling the freedom of sailing across the lake, or laughing uncontrollably with new friends around a burning campfire.  The memories and friendships made at camp are everlasting. Camp is not only a game-changer –it’s a life-changer!

It can cost up to $1,200 to send a kid with disabilities to an Easter Seals camp. Be a part of changing one kids’ life forever!

From February 29 to March 27, Canadians in communities big and small all across the country will come together for the annual Easter Seals Paper Egg Campaign.

Our annual Paper Egg Campaign generously sponsored by Booster Juice, Red Apple and The Bargain! Shop contributes significantly to the celebrations.

Throughout the month of March, you can send personalized Easter Seals Spring eCards to your family and friends when you purchase virtual eggs online. Select one of our three unique Spring eCard designs, customize your message, and send as many cards as you'd like. Send an Easter Seals Spring eCard today and help give kids living with disabilities a life-changing camp experience this summer!

Did You Know Part 2

15% of the world identifies as having a disability According to the World Health Organization, 15% of the world’s population (an estimated 1.1 billion people) identify as having some form of disability. This represents the world’s largest minority, and the only minority group that any of us can become a member of at any time.
