Easter Seals Kicks-off the Spring Campaigns, Introduces 2017 Youth Ambassador
Monday, March 20th from 10:30 am to 11:30 am
City Room, City Hall, Edmonton

Edmonton, AB – Past and present supporters will attend the Easter Seals Spring Kick-off Campaign on Monday, March 20th from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at City Hall (light lunch to follow sponsored by “On the Rocks”).

At the Kick-off, Easter Seals Alberta will be announcing the 2017 Provincial Goal of $150,000 for Easter Seals children, adults and seniors, as well as introducing the new 2017 Ambassador for northern Alberta.

The 2017 Spring Campaign will be launched, including the Direct Mail Campaign and the Paper Egg Campaign which is supported by many retailers and companies across the Province.

Ade Adebolu was the Easter Seals Ambassador for Northern Alberta in 2016. She is now 11-years-old and has Cerebral Palsy. Her beautiful smile and bright shiny eyes were always a highlight at our events. Easter Seals provided funds to her family to get a wheelchair lift that helps get her easily from the garage to her home. We are so proud to contribute some of the funds to make it more accessible for her and her family…independence is priceless!

Ade will “pass the torch” at this Kick-off to the new northern Alberta Youth Ambassador, Elisheva Ausfresser. She is 10 years old and has Crohn’s disease. This past year she attended Camp Got2Go at Easter Seals Camp Horizon. Elisheva, in the future, would like to see more people donate to causes to help others like herself with medical conditions. She would like there to be more places like Camp Got2Go at Easter Seals Camp Horizon so that other children around the world could attend this type of camp.

Volunteer with Easter Seals

Did You Know Part 1

In 1951 Canadian Mothers began marches such as one led by Canada’s first female Cabinet Minister, Ellen Fairclough, MP for Hamilton West. As a result of their efforts, the research of Dr. Jonas Salk was well funded, creating the historic made-in-Canada cure for polio. Today, Easter Seals Alberta funds vital programs and services for adults with disabilities and special needs.
