One day…One office tower… One way down...

Superheroes descend in downtown Calgary

Superheroes take the leap and rappel 30-stories at Easter Seals Drop Zone

Calgary, AB – On September 1, 2016 an elite group of brave participants, including former professional ice hockey player and current assistant general manager for the Calgary Flames Craig Conroy, dressed as their favorite superhero will step out of their comfort zone and off of the 30-stories Sun Life Tower in Downtown Calgary, in support of Albertans with disabilities and medical conditions.

“The event is quickly filling up,” says Jess Heinrichs, Events Manager for Easter Seals Alberta.  “This is a great event for people who want to raise money and make an impact in others’ lives, while challenging themselves by pushing their comfort zones.”

All participants will receive specialized training prior to the event, and will be raising a minimum of $1,500 in pledges to support Easter Seals Alberta. Funds raised during the event will support children and adults with disabilities and medical conditions in Alberta through mobility equipment, recreational and residential programs.

The event will take place between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Friends, family, work colleagues and interested spectators are welcome to take in the excitement at ground level at the corner of 1st Street and 4th Avenue S.W.

“This event raises much needed… funds for people with disabilities,” says Susan Boivin, CEO of Easter Seals Alberta. “Participants who challenge their fears and rappel down 30-stories are truly superheroes to Easter Seals kids.”

Presented by the Canadian Real Estate Investment Trust (CREIT) - the National Founding Sponsor - the Easter Seals Drop Zone is one of the most talked about and memorable fundraisers in cities across Canada.

Local sponsors include OPUS Corporation, Evolution Presentation Technologies, Men in Kilts, The Crux Climbing and Bouldering Gym, Tacten, Pattison Outdoor Advertising, McDonald’s, Party Rental Depot, An Affair to Remember and Safeway.
