Frequently Asked Questions

How are we helping with COVID-19?

As the Coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to spread, Easter Seals Alberta is closely monitoring the situation and is taking appropriate action to ensure the health and safety of our clients, staff, and volunteers. We are ensuring, where possible, that people have accessibility equipment such as stair lifts and other mobility equipment in their homes to continue staying in their homes. We continue to provide stable housing at McQueen Home and taking precautions to ensure the safety and health of our residents. In addition, we have increased cleaning of all surfaces at Camp Horizon to help mitigate the risk to visitors.

Camp Horizon

Due to the changed COVID-19 government regulations, will summer camp be running again?

Our organization will be keeping our spring and summer programming suspended until further notice – this is to ensure that all campers and staff remain safe and healthy.

Is registration for fall and winter camps still opening on June 3rd?

We know that many of our campers are eager to return to Camp Horizon after our spring and summer season was suspended due to the COVID-19 outbreak.  Our team is eager to see everyone return as well, but there is still great uncertainty surrounding the pandemic as it continues to evolve.  Therefore, we have decided to postpone our Fall & Winter registration to a later time. Our summer season will also remain suspended.

Our team has not yet selected a new date for our registration to open, but we are closely monitoring all COVID-19 updates and are continuing to follow the direction of government and health officials while making these decisions. The health, wellbeing, and safety of our community remains our highest priority, and we will update all campers and their families with information as soon as we know more.

Are fall and winter camps still happening?

At this time we cannot guarantee that our fall and winter camps will move forward, however, we are hopeful that we will be able to run our camps.
