Equipment Loan Program

Thank you for your interest in applying to Easter Seals Alberta’s Equipment Loan Program. Easter Seals Alberta is a charity organization dedicated to supporting Albertans living with disabilities and medical conditions. It is our mission to provide services and programs that foster inclusion, independence and recreation for our clients.

Easter Seals Alberta’s Equipment Loan Program provides equipment to children, youth, adults, seniors and families with any disability.

This program is intended to be a funding option for individuals who have exhausted all other funding resources for accessibility equipment. Clients must not be eligible for government-based funding (AADL), and we cannot cover the client cost-share portion of AADL funding. Eligibility for funding includes power mobility devices (scooters, power wheelchairs), lifts (vertical lifts, porch lifts, stair lifts), hospital beds, elevating seats, ceiling tracks, strollers, portable ramps, walking aids, and lift assist chairs. Please note that this is not an exhaustive list; other equipment requests may be considered. Please email your inquiry to accessibilitysupports@easterseals.ab.ca. We have friendly and knowledgeable staff ready to help you with your application.

Easter Seals Alberta accepts requests for funding for one piece of equipment, per client to a maximum of $5,000, once every 5 years. If an applicant’s equipment funding request exceeds this amount, the applicant must secure funding for the remaining cost. Funding requests that are $5,000 or less are not guaranteed to be approved.

When submitting your application, please include the following forms and supporting documents. All information provided is confidential and used only for its intended purpose.

• Client Equipment Loan Program Application Form
• Occupational Therapist Assessment
• Notice of Assessment (from the previous year for the household)
• Vendor quote for your requested equipment

Applications that are missing one or more of the above documents are considered INCOMPLETE and will not be reviewed until all documents have been received.

Equipment Returns / Donations

If you want to donate or return equipment, please complete the Donate Used Equipment Form found HERE.

Please Note: Due to storage capacity, Easter Seals Alberta is only accepting donation requests for scooters and power wheelchairs that are less than 5 years old. Any other requests cannot be accommodated at this time.
