Community & Event Volunteering
This is a great opportunity to give back to the community, and take part in signature and community events. We are looking for volunteers with diverse skill sets who could volunteer out of Calgary, Edmonton, or Bragg Creek.
Event Volunteer
Easter Seals Alberta runs several events throughout the year and need a large number of volunteers to make this possible. We are always looking for volunteers to help with setup, selling raffle tickets, helping run our live and silent auctions, and other tasks as needed. You will bring your “can do” attitude, high professionalism, and superior customer service or organizational skills. Events are typically a 5 – 8 hour commitment.
Work Crew Volunteers
Easter Seals Alberta’s Camp Horizon and McQueen Home.
Work Crews are a fantastic way for corporate groups to make a difference in the lives of Albertans with disabilities and to have a team-building, fun-filled day outdoors!
Work Crew projects include but are not limited to:
- Landscaping & gardening
- Painting & staining (indoors & outdoors)
- Fence building & repair
- Tile installation (indoors)
- Simple carpentry
- Trail maintenance & boardwalk building/repair
- Program set-up (assembling/moving tents, picnic tables, fire pits, etc.)
- Outhouse maintenance (only for the extra keen!)
Depending on the group size and what skills and resources you are able to bring along, we can customize a work party experience for you. Groups can be self-catered (outdoor BBQ provided) or enjoy a hot lunch at Camp.
We are currently accepting work crews for the fall season at both Camp Horizon and McQueen Home.
McQueen Home is actively seeking a group to do some landscaping (tree trimming) in Edmonton.
